Another short week. Here is what is on tap.
Reading
I will be introducing Questioning to the students. It is a comprehension skill that teaches them to ask questions as they read a text.
Phonics
We will learn alphabetic order and hopefully start getting into consonant blends.
Writing
Students are going to start picking their own writing ideas and we will focus on writing more and adding detail through pictures and words.
Math
We begin learning 3-D shapes.
Science/Social Studies
We will start building our homes from around the world this week. Students have made "blueprints" and will now start construction. We will be reading The House that Tony Lives In to help us understand the process of building a house as well as the workers needed to build it. Look for a play on youtube Friday!
