We will reading Polar Express this week and learning how to visualize (make a movie in our head) when we read/hear stories.
Writing
In writing this week we will continue to work on writing sentences and doing daily fix-its (I write a sentence incorrectly and the students find the mistakes).
Math
We are finishing up our second math book and mastering our numbers to twenty. We will continue to graph and work on patterns during morning meeting.

December 8-12
Reading
We are reading two books this week. One about grey whale migration and the other about monarch butterfly migration. We will be comparing migration to hibernation.
Writing
We are reading the book Freight Train by: Donald Crews to get writing ideas. We are also focusing on how to write a whole sentence. We will continue to do daily fix-it where the students have to find mistakes in sentences. Students should be starting to use a capital letter to begin their sentence and a period for an ending mark.
Phonics
We are focusing on letters Ww and Xx this week.
Math
We are learning numbers 11-20 and continuing to compare numbers using new vocabulary like greater and fewer.
